Minutide is an independent focus timer and time journal for macOS and Android, maintained by the developer behind the official Minutide repository. This policy covers the app and this product website. Contact the developer through the support tracker. Do not put private journal content or tokens in a public issue.

Your local journal

You can use the timer, notes, habits, calendar and analytics without an account. Journal entries, titles, notes, links, tags, ratings, session timing, templates and settings are stored on your device. The app does not send this journal to a Minutide server. Local app data is protected by the operating system’s app storage and permissions; it is not a separately encrypted journal vault.

Optional Google Calendar connection

Google sign-in is optional. Google sign-in is disabled in this public release while the separate OAuth project is prepared for verification. A later readiness update is required to enable it. If you connect, Minutide uses your Google account identity/email to display the connected account, reads your calendar list so you can choose a destination, and reads or writes completed app sessions in calendars you own. Requested Calendar permissions are calendar.events.owned and calendar.calendarlist.readonly. Mac sign-in also requests openid and email.

When you explicitly sync or enable automatic sync, Minutide sends session titles, notes, links in notes, tags, ratings and timing directly from the device to Google. Recovery metadata is included in the event’s private extended properties. This metadata is not encryption; Google and anyone with sufficient access to the selected calendar may be able to read event content. Only app-owned events are used for journal synchronization. The app does not sell your Google data, use it for advertising, or send it to AI models.

Automatic sync is off by default. Imported/restored entries require manual publishing. Changing the Google account or calendar turns automatic sync off again so you can review the new destination. Running timers, drafts, settings and templates do not live-sync between devices.

Credentials and disconnection

Google tokens are kept in the platform’s secure storage or the Google sign-in SDK, separately from journal exports. Minutide does not ask for or store your Google password. You can disconnect in the app and revoke its access in your Google account permissions. Disconnection does not delete events already sent to Google. Delete those in Google Calendar if desired. Removing a journal entry locally also does not automatically remove its remote Calendar event.

Backups, export and deletion

Exports contain readable journal content, including any private information you wrote in notes. They do not contain Google tokens. Mac exports save JSON or CSV files. Android exports copy JSON or a tab-separated table (TSV) to the system clipboard; save the JSON as a file or paste the table into your chosen app. Consider your system’s clipboard history and synchronization settings. Choose a private destination and manage or delete those copies yourself. Device backups, shared folders and operating-system services are governed by their own settings. Remove app data through the operating system to delete the local journal; uninstall behavior varies by platform. Delete exported files and Google events separately if you want to remove those copies too.

Updates, website and support

The app has no advertising, behavioral analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Checking for updates contacts GitHub, and downloading a release contacts GitHub and its file-delivery providers; they receive ordinary network information such as your IP address. This website is hosted by OpenAI Sites. Its hosting infrastructure processes the requests needed to deliver the pages. The site adds no advertising pixels or analytics scripts; it saves only your language preference in your browser. Support issues you submit to GitHub are public under GitHub’s terms. Do not post sensitive information.

Limited use of Google data

Minutide’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to provide the visible Calendar integration. No human access is part of the normal app workflow.

Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. New data uses or permissions will require updated disclosures and consent where needed. This productivity tool is intended for adults and is not directed to children.
